The Dewey Schools – Gia Lam featured on Kien Viet: VietDECOR’s Interior Design Imprint
VietDECOR is honored to share that the project The Dewey Schools – Gia Lam has been featured on Kien Viet, one of Vietnam’s leading professional platforms for architecture and interior design. The publication highlights not only the architectural narrative but also the comprehensive interior design strategy developed by VietDECOR.
With a total floor area of 20,000 sqm, designed in 2021 and completed in 2024, VietDECOR was responsible for the full interior design scope across academic and facility spaces. The core concept developed throughout the project is “flow” — a spatial language expressing movement, transformation, and continuous development.
This concept is translated into soft curves within spatial planning, ceiling and wall treatments, flooring articulation, graphic patterns, and custom furniture systems. Brand identity elements were reinterpreted into cohesive interior patterns, ensuring visual consistency from the main lobby and corridors to the open library, canteen, and specialized classrooms.
The library adopts an open and welcoming layout, with neutral shelving and furniture systems that highlight books as the focal point. The canteen maximizes natural light while maintaining a consistent color palette and graphic language. Even the basement was reimagined as an active playground space, enhancing spatial efficiency beyond conventional auxiliary use.
A total of 55 classrooms, along with music rooms, art studios, IT labs, science laboratories, Makerspace, sports areas, and supporting facilities, were organized under principles of flexibility, optimized functionality, and operational durability. Every interior detail was carefully controlled to ensure safety, longevity, and aesthetic coherence in a high-intensity educational environment.
The project demonstrates VietDECOR’s capability in delivering large-scale, multi-functional interior design solutions requiring systematic thinking and strong conceptual consistency.
